How SmartMeet compares
An honest comparison. Other services change their plans often, so check their current pages before you decide — what follows was true of their published plans as we understood them in October 2026.
| SmartMeet | Zoom (free plan) | Zoom (paid plans) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Meeting length | No limit | Limited (40 minutes) | Longer limits by plan |
| Install for guests | None — the browser | App suggested; browser possible | App suggested; browser possible |
| Weak connections | Voice first; video steps down per person | Adapts | Adapts |
| Business Associate Agreement | Included at sign-up | No | On healthcare plans, by arrangement |
| Price | $15/month flat | Free | Per user, by plan |
Where SmartMeet is not the right choice
Large webinars, breakout rooms and phone dial-in are not part of SmartMeet today. Each meeting is built for a small group — a consultation, a team call, a class — and works best with up to eight people on camera. If you need hundreds of attendees, a webinar service will serve you better.
Scheduling
A booking page that people can pick a time from is not part of SmartMeet yet. Until it is, a SmartMeet link works in any calendar or booking tool you already use: paste it into the event's location.
